I was thinking about Universal Accounting the other day…I took your course…as a newly divorced stay at home Mom of two very small children. I did very well in class, but it was your marketing methods that allowed me to build a business successfully. I have clients all over Salt Lake City who are always amazed at what I can do vs what their previous bookkeepers have done for them. I support my family solely on my own and make a very good wage doing it. I own a home, drive a nice car, and have been home every afternoon at 3 pm when my kids walk in from school. So, what I wanted to say was Thank you. But in addition, I really feel a need to help pass this on to others. Words cannot describe how much your course has contributed to my knowledge and confidence in going out there and getting clients. In the past, I have attended different courses related to [the] Accounting designation that I was planning to achieve. My experience with Universal Accounting Marketing Program was stimulating, revealing, and most of all educational. My coach Rick Howard guided me from being very doubtful to being confident and believing that I have all the qualities to pursue my dream. When the sessions started I was filled with apprehension. I had a general business background but I didn’t specifically know how to do bookkeeping and I realized if I was going to be able to sell my services to small business owners I would have to be both confident that I could discuss their needs and offer solutions and competent enough to follow through on my promises. I enrolled in the courses last November and finished in about a month. I officially launched my business at the beginning of the year. I was able to get my first client within a week of starting- they are still with me, by the way- I have not had a single client leave- and since then I am now up to 16 monthly clients with several more starting soon and I have also done quite a bit of one-off project work each month. I am now at the point where I have had to turn down some work and I am about to sign a lease for a small office and start looking for my first employee so I can continue to go out and pull in new clients and have someone to take over a portion of the work.
