The countdown to GrowCon 26 marches on! As we get closer to the official start of the premier conference for owners of bookkeeping, tax preparation and accounting businesses, we’ll be introducing you to the speakers who will enlighten us with strategies for improving your firm come May 4.
Interested in learning from these thought leaders in person? Be sure to grab your ticket to GrowCon today.
Today, we’d like to introduce you to Jaime Rodriguez, the owner and CEO of Bookkeepers.com. Rodriguez is one of 15 speakers who will share his insights with us in Salt Lake City this May 4-6.
Rodriguez helps people learn the skill of bookkeeping and build their own bookkeeping businesses, building a reputation for making the complex simple while helping aspiring bookkeepers gain confidence, clients and freedom. We’re lucky to have him presenting at GrowCon 2026!
We caught up with Jaime as he prepares for his presentation and are excited to give you a little sneak preview today!
Redefining Success in Bookkeeping
Rodriguez’s presentation is titled The Currency of Success, and is about selecting a new definition for what success and wealth actually mean in business.
“We spend so much time chasing numbers, milestones, and benchmarks that we rarely stop to ask if the business we’re building is actually serving the life we want. This talk is about stepping back, reconnecting with your ‘why,’ and understanding that true success is measured in freedom, peace of mind, and alignment, not just revenue,” Rodriguez said.
Rodriguez noted that success can look different for every person in the room, and we have to be intentional about what that looks like for us and our business.
Choosing Your Definition at GrowCon
This topic is a reflection of Rodriguez’s own journey in the accounting industry.
“For a long time, I thought success meant hitting the next income goal or growing faster than before,” he said. “But over time, I realized that what I was really chasing was security for my family, freedom with my time, and the ability to live a life that felt intentional, not rushed or reactive.”
Redefining success is especially important right now because the accounting industry is changing so fast, Rodriguez said.
“With technology, AI, and constant noise about growth, it’s easy to lose sight of what we’re actually building toward,” Rodriguez said. “… I want [attendees] to define what “rich” means for them and start making business decisions that move them closer to that vision instead of further away from it.”
Looking Forward to GrowCon
What Rodriguez is looking forward to most about GrowCon is that moment something clicks for someone in the room. Conferences like GrowCon bring together people who are deep in the work, Rodriguez said, and they often put pressure on themselves to have it all figured out.
“I love being able to create space for honest reflection and remind people that they’re not alone in the challenges they’re facing,” he added.
To get the most out of GrowCon, Rodriguez recommended “coming to GrowCon open.” The focus of the conference is to strengthen the person behind the business, and he hopes his presentation will do just that.
We are so lucky to have Jaime as a part of GrowCon 26, and I for one am very much looking forward to his presentation this May.
